(Port) Wine of the month September 2021: BURMESTER VINTAGE PORT 1960

Similar to the Barros 1948 my expectations were rather low when I opened the bottle, but no need to worry: A great Vintage Port, which still has some years to go. Fully transparent medium red-orange colour. Intense and well matured bouquet with honey, malty notes, pepper and a spicy finish. The palate offers some sweetness and a perfectly balancing acidity. Fresh tobacco leaves, honey, milk chocolate and malt. Long aftertaste. Peaking! 18/20
(I did not take a picture from the bottle, but the Colheita from the same year almost had a similar colour)
